Low Carb Bechamel

Creamy, smooth, rich, and authentic-tasting with low carbs. For even fewer carbs, you could substitute heavy cream, but the calories zoom up, too.

Low Carb Bechamel
Yield: 2 cups (6 servings) // 204 calories, 3 net carbs

1-3/4 cups organic pasture-raised half-and-half
7 ounces organic pasture-raised cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Add all ingredients to a nonstick saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring continuously. Lower the heat and let simmer for a few minutes, until it reaches a smooth, thick consistency. Taste and add more salt or spices if necessary.
